What is Urvi?

“Urvi is a fire for recognition ; it is a living, breathing space for inner practice. It was born from a responsibility to create a sanctuary where seekers can step beyond the illusions of ego and truly encounter themselves. This is not a refuge for escape from a 'normal hectic' life, nor a retreat to comfort, It is a call to awaken.

Here, sadhana is not something passive or remote from life. At Urvi, sadhana is alive. It is in your breath, your steps, your silences, and your struggles. Every moment becomes a doorway to inquiry, asking the most vital question: Who am I? This is not an answer you will find in books or beliefs but in the raw intensity of living fully, authentically, and courageously.

Urvi is unconventional because life here cannot be contained by the boundaries of tradition or the expectations of society. It is a place where you confront yourself, not as you wish to be, but as you truly are. A place where meditation is not limited to sitting in silence but flows into every movement, every conversation, and every challenge. This is where the structures of your conditioned mind begin to crack, allowing something deeper, something real, to emerge as a free being living in the essence of love.

If you come to Urvi, come ready to live beyond comfort, beyond what you think you know. Be ready to question everything, your thoughts, your beliefs, your very sense of self. Because here, in this sacred ground, life is not something to survive or manage. It is something to wake up to, fully and without compromise. We are not just living; we are diving into the profound truth of what it means to be.”

WHAT ISN'T URVI?

Urvi is not a retreat, resort or a tourist campsite. Alcohol, smoking and substances and loud sound is strictly prohibited on the premises.

WHAT IS OUR STORY?

Bodhi, the founder of the place, envisioned a home built on the principles of love and free will. With the help of friends, locals, and volunteers, he created Urvi to promote a meditative lifestyle, physical rejuvenation, emotional transformation, art, and conscious living. His spiritual journey began at the age of 12, and he has been practicing meditation ever since. Through his self-inquiry, he explored and discovered many techniques to assist others on their own journeys of self-discovery.

Similarly, the rest of the team found Urvi while searching for a place they could call home, where they could experience true freedom, find answers to their problems (be it physical, psychological or spiritual) and celebrate life.

OUR FAMILY

Currently, at Urvi, there are 6-7 of us living along with two dogs, one kitten in a beautiful valley surrounded by lush forests, mountains, and a stream living in harmony with nature. We practise a meditative lifestyle that values silence, solitude, communal gatherings, and celebrating life through creativity, play, and work. We help each other transform in all these aspects, believing that love is the key to this transformation. Additionally, we have a few members who support our work remotely from the cities.
